In this episode, Corwin goes through the top teams in terms of recruit rankings over the last 10 years and translates that into how successful that team has been over that time frame.
College recruiting is quite possibly the most powerful tool that CFB programs have; even more so than coaching and training/facilities. Recruiting is what brings the top-talent into your school and makes it a desirable place for other recruits to go. When a college team can boast success based on their record (and eventually, based on how many players they send to the NFL via draft or free-agency), they can attract more top-tier High School recruits to join that team to help bolster the High School students individual talent as a player (and NFL prospect), as well as help the school become further attractive as a destination. It is easy to see how this can become a cyclical process of a school having a successful team, getting the best prospects as a result, and then being the best team yet again. This (in further detail) is discussed in today's episode.
